Abstract
Jolanta Kolbuszewska ZBIGNIEW KUCHOWICZ AND HIS VISION OF SCIENCE (DISCUSSIONS AROUND THE BOOK „BIOLOGICAL DIMENSION OF HISTORY”) The aim of this article is to present the research achievements and the practice of writing history by Zbigniew Kuchowicz. The central figure of the text, Zbigniew Kuchowicz was connected with University of Łódź (from 1956 to 1991). He was a distinguished researcher of history of culture and social history. His publications have enjoyed great popularity and had great editions. Kuchowicz was an author of an interesting proposal for including history of the biological aspects. His famous book Biological dimension of history was the object of the discussion. Jolanta Kolbuszewska has presented the course of this discussion and evaluation of Kuchowicz`s proposals. Also considering the place (scientific position) of Kuchowicz in polish historiography.
