ZEUGMA: TRAINING MATERIAL WITH QUESTIONS AND TASKS

Abstract

The paper discusses zeugma as a device characterized by a violation in the meaning of words functioning within the limits of the same grammatical structure. The semantic shift from what is semantically expected to unexpected meanings results in an illogical combination of words. The paper is intended as a practical aid while teaching the linguistic peculiarity of a stylistic device.
