"Złota godzina" w wypadkach drogowych

Abstract
The term ‘golden hour’ defines the time in which a patient in a lifethreatening condition should receive specialist help. Those injured in accidents involving high kinetic energy are exposed to serious trauma. At the same time, significant damage to vehicles can result in the wounded being trapped. Rescue systems around the world try to improve evacuation techniques in order to reduce the time needed to extricate victims from crashed vehicles, which currently is alarmingly long. Delay in the release of a patient from a vehicle may result not only in worsening the victim’s condition, but also it adversely affects the services that provide help. The aim of the article is to present the method of extricating the injured from a vehicle due to the elongation of the vehicle structure.
