A IMPORTÂNCIA DOS PROJETOS DE EXTENSÃO NA FORMAÇÃO DO PROFESSOR DE MATEMÁTICA

Abstract

This article presents, in the form of report, some reflections on the importance of extension projects for training of future graduates in Mathematics. We Introduced the work with information about the low demand for teacher training courses and how it interferes in current courses. Also, we take care of the need to rethink strategies for retention and completion of entrants and the importance of developing outreach projects for this to occur. This bias, we expose the activities with the project “Overcoming Adversity in the Process of Teaching and Learning of Basic Mathematics through the integration between the different study levels” and debate regarding the benefits of this action for the training of future teachers. To mark our discussions, we analyzed the testimony of academics who participated in the project and have completed a degree in Mathematics and also in a special way, we expose arguments that corroborate the understanding that projects help overcome the dichotomy between theory and practice, advancing in the process of teaching and learning
