A INSTITUIÇÃO ESCOLA NO INÍCIO DO SÉCULO XXI: POR UMA SOCIOLOGIA CRÍTICA DA EDUCAÇÃO

Abstract
The mandatory teaching of sociology in high school opens up possibilities for analyzing the school system as a whole, because the school institution is pervaded by a paradoxical situation: it is understood as a history of upward mobility and carrier credibility at the same time that appears as the center of questions and uncertainties related to its immediate sense in the end of the first decade of this century. Thus, this paper seeks to reflect through thinking of Freire and Habermas and the analytical bias of Sociology of Education, the rationales that support and sustain the Brazilian school system, seeking theoretical and practical alternatives for the (re) creation of school and emancipatory dialogue.
