Journal Title: International Journal of Pharma Research and Health Sciences - Year 2014, Vol 2, Issue 3

Abstract

Carcinoma of esophagus is one of the common cancers affecting human being. However it is very rare below 30 years of age {1,2}. Many studies have shown thatthe esophageal malignancies are caused due to environment produced risk factors. They have long latent period ofcarcinogenesis. This makes them rare in childhood. Many of the reported cases do not have any relation to the etiological or environmental riskfactors, therefore, the pathogenesis of the condition is stillunknown {3,4,5,6}. Here we are reporting a case of esophageal carcinoma in a 25-year-oldadult because of its rare incidence in this group.
