A RODA DE CONVERSA COMO GÊNERO DISCURSIVO

Abstract

The conversation wheel is configured as a formative space for working with verbal language in Early Childhood Education. This article presents results of a master´s research, conducted in 2015, on the conversation wheel with a group of children aged three to five years, in three public institutions of Early Childhood Education, in the municipality of Francisco Beltrão, Paraná, in order to identify the formative aspects that this practice favors in the constitution of the subject / child. The research was carried out by observations and audio-recordings, to capture the subjects’ dialogues and the movement of cultural contents in their realization. The analysis is based on the assumptions of Vygotsky’s historical-cultural psychology and on the dialogical perspective of Bakhtin’s language, by which we situate the conversation wheel as a secondary discursive genre that allows the dialogic movement and the interaction of the subjects to express their voices. The results point to the formative potential of the conversation wheel, as the interactions promoted in the ‘’wheel’’ enable a dialogue between children’s knowledge and their relationships with school knowledge. It also presents itself as a space that promotes dialogue, enhances children’s singularity, allows the construction of cultural values and knowledge, as well as the democratization of knowledge
