Accesibility, quality and efficiency of functioning of health care in Poland in opinions of patients using and not using private gynecological care

Journal Title: Medycyna Ogólna i Nauki o Zdrowiu - Year 2010, Vol 16, Issue 2

Abstract

The most important effectiveness criteria of the functioning of a given system of health care are: complexity, continuity and quality of this care, as well as its accessibility. The objective of the study undertaken was evaluation of the efficiency of the functioning of health care based on opinions of 304 patients of gynecological wards in the Lublin and Silesian Regions. The evaluation of accessibility, quality and efficiency of care was presented both by women who use only public facilities, and those who use also private gynecological care. The study showed that the quality of this care in the above-mentioned regions is on a high level. Good evaluations by the women were obtained by both physicians and middle staff. The difficulty still concerns distant dates of appointments with gynecologists. Patients’ opinions are also alarming, evidencing the preference by the medical staff of patients using private gynecological care in the diagnostic-treatment process.
