ACTIVITY OF PERSONALITY AS A CATEGORY OF CONSCIOUS PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY

Abstract
Abstract. The relevance of the study topic is determined by the social need of the formation of active personality and his/her cognitive interest, which is the main force in activating professional potential. The purpose of the article is to clarify the thesaurus “activity of personality” as a category of professional activity; systematization of the meaning of the term; definition of sources and mechanisms of activity of the individual, which enables his/her development in the process of conscious professional activity. On the basis of the analysis of theoretical and methodical principles, the results of the definition of the concept of "personality activity" are summarized as: the personality trait and the source of its transformation (S. Maksimenko); driving force and source of awakening (O. Skrypchenko); integrative quality of personality, which manifests in independence (E. Zavgorodnya, G. Kostiuk, V. Lozova). On the basis of the analysis of theoretical studies of K. Abulkhanova-Slavskaya, V. Lozova stated that the activity of the individual manifests through various types of creative activity and stimulates the process of creative activity. Analyzing these scientific approaches to the definition of the concept of activity, we note that some experts define activity as a quality or personality characteristic, which is manifested in need, readiness and capacity for self-activity. The definition of the term is not unanimous. Specialists are not of the same mind about the origin and development of personality activity, substantiating their positions from viewpoint of different spheres of its existence. Thus, the above mentioned allows to characterize the relationship of energies and activity within a single definition, but not of the same concept. Activity is a set of motives, needs and actions that ensure the formation, implementation and development of the personality's activities, in particular in professional activities. It was found that the development of activity depends on person’s needs and motives. The activity of the personality should be guided by the goal and take into consideration the individual orientation, willingness and desire for conscious professional activity.
