ACTUALIZATORS OF THE CONCEPT OF DEATH IN THE NOVEL “THE APPLE TREE” BY JOHN GOLSWORTHY

Abstract
This article deals with concept as verbal and mental construct, its typology according to A. N. Prikhodko classification, as logical and theosophical concept (universal, unregulated, nonparametric mental unit with abstract semantics); the essence of the notion concept from different scientific approaches is defined in this article, according to E.S. Kubrayakova point of view as operative and contextual unit of memory, mental lexicon, conceptual system and language of brain, all pictyre of the world, reflected in people’s psychology; the characteristic of psychological archetype death according to the classification, suggested by K.Yung as conceptual implication of psychological archetype of Darkness and according to L.I. Belekhova’s classification the concept of DEATH are given; as cultural archetype this concept has such symbols as: moon, elephant, raven, night, typhoon, whirlwind, winter, snow, fog, ash, dust, door, cave, sump, down the essence of logical and philosophical concept of DEATH which is actualized in conceptual metaphoric schemas by nominative units of different levels: unhappy love, payback, grieve, repentance, regret pain, loss, duty, emptiness. Interpretative and contextual analysis of the novel John Galsworthy “The Apple Tree” give possibility to understand literary concept of DEATH in conceptual metaphoric schemas DEATH IS GRIEVE, DEATH IS WORSHIP, DEATH IS RELIASE, DEATH IS EMPTINESS, DEATH IS REMORSE.
