Abstract
The adaptive role of music This article is an attempt at cultural interpretation of results of studies which took place at a swimming pool. The participants were divided into two groups:swimmers and musicians. The main goal of the study was to measure the participants’ adaptive abilities in water. It turns out that the group of musicians had a slightly better ability to react to a stimulus in water. As a result, the main focus of the article is the emphasis on the adaptive role of music in culture.
