АFFIX METHODS OF CRIMINALISTIC TERMS DERIVATION

Abstract
The article investigates the characteristic features of affix ways of creating Ukrainian criminalistic terminology. It also examines international terminological elements with suffixes and prefixes. The survey, explanatory description and structural methods were used. The language of modern criminalistics actively uses both foreign-language borrowings and components. Ukrainian criminalistic terminology uses prefixes of foreign origin with the opposite meaning as well as creates terms with the help of Ukrainian prefixes, joining word stems both in foreign and Ukrainian languages. We found out that using word-building tools for terminology will always be a secondary phenomenon. It reflects the relevance of extra-linguistic factors and context, when there is a need for new concepts. Many forensic terms are formed with the help of foreign (mainly of Greek and Latin origin) morphological elements, which have acquired the status of international prefixes and concentrated in the ranks of nominal stems. So, we analyzed international terminological elements or morphemic borrowings that have the status of prefixes and suffixes.
