Journal Title: Слов’янський збірник - Year 2015, Vol 0, Issue 19
Abstract
The philosophical positions of the unity of content and form and of the relationship between the total and partial are taken as a methodological basis of this article. Contextual analysis, descriptive and functional methods are used. The purpose of this article is to clarify the structure specificity of the review as a genre of academic discourse. The task is to distinguish genre features of the review article on onomastics and to identify its structural components, linguistic methods of its realization. We also characterized the scientific review of onomastic works by Yu. O. Karpenko and determined the specificity of analytical review articles. Special attention is paid to elements of the main part of the onomastic review where the scientist reasonably estimates the published work, pointing out to achievements and making remarks. Investigating scientific reviews allowed us to consider main features of the scientific discourse genre. The result of the research is that the structural and semantic discourse of the review article is associated with the implementation of the communicative purpose of the genre mentioned above, because it serves as a reference point for those who are interested in linguistic discourse.
