Agritourism – an Unexploited Potential of the Lower Oder Valley: The Case of Gryfino District

Abstract
Agritourism provides development opportunities for the rural areas of the Gryfino district. These opportunities are the result of the district’s unique nature and landscape and a relatively small number of farms specialising in agritourism. Nonetheless, the regional authorities are still faced with a lot of challenges associated with supporting and promoting this kind of business activity (marketing, legislation). For this reason, they need assistance from such institutions as the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture and centre for agriculture extension, and the involvement of local tourism organizations and associations. The future development of the agritourism sector requires concerted efforts and cooperation on the part of all stakeholders to make farmers aware of the benefits of agritourism and its positive impact on the economy and infrastructure of the entire district and to help them obtain EU funding.
