Abstract
The article analyses the problem questions of the unofficial names. Theoretical principles of the study of anthroponomy concerning national mode of life and unofficial names in Lviv region have been analyzed in the thesis. Individual, territorial and family-generic nicknames have been outlined for the first time in the thesis from the point of view of motivation basis and word-building structure, using wide range of factual material. The subject of our attention is a theoretical analysis of works on anthroponymy. The purpose of the article is to analyze a number of linguistic problems and different approaches of scientists in science, namely: the definition of components that create an informal naming system; the classification of individual nicknames and family names; the problem of naming nicknames; the nature of the nicknames of schoolchildren; peculiarities of family-tribal names.
