AKUMULACJA MAKROSKŁADNIKÓW W IGLIWIU DRZEW RÓŻNYCH GATUNKÓW PINUS
Journal Title: Słupskie Prace Biologiczne - Year 2017, Vol 1, Issue 14
Abstract
The research was done within the area of the forest at the University Botanic Garden in Košice (Slovakia). The aim of the study was to compare the accumulation of N, P, K, Mg and Ca in the 1-year and 2-years old needles of Pinus armandii, Pinus banksiana, Pinus mugo, Pinus nigra, Pinus sylvestris and Pinus wallichiana. During the study, the content of the examined components in the soil were taken into consideration. The soil under the examined trees was not enough rich in N and Ca and sufficiently rich in P, K and Mg. Studied needles showed a strongly acidic reaction. The content of macroelements in the needles was varied, depending on species and the age of the coniferous needles. In all Pinus species low concentrations nitrogen in needles was found. In the case of P. nigra and 2-year-old needles of P. sylvestris demonstrated low concentrations of phosphorus. In most Pinus species, needles showed low concentrations of potassium, except for P. sylvestris. Needles Pinus species characterized by a good and very good supply of Mg and Ca. Concentrations of N, P, K, Mg and Ca in the 1-year and 2-year-old needles showed statistically significant differences between the analyzed species of Pinus. The growth and development of P. armandii, P. banksiana, P. mugo and P. wallchiana is limited too low concentration of bioavailable forms of nitrogen within the root system of studied forests stands.
