AN INTRODUCTION TO DSmT. FIRST PART
Journal Title: ROMANIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNICAL SCIENCES - APPLIED MECHANICS - Year 2011, Vol 56, Issue 2
Abstract
The management and combination of uncertain, imprecise, fuzzy and even paradoxical or highly conflicting sources of information has always been, and still remains today, of primal importance for the development of reliable modern information systems involving artificial reasoning. In this introduction, we present a survey of our recent theory of plausible and paradoxical reasoning, known as Dezert-Smarandache Theory (DSmT), developed for dealing with imprecise, uncertain and conflicting sources of information. We focus our presentation on the foundations of DSmT and on its most important rules of combination, rather than on browsing specific applications of DSmT available in literature. Several simple examples are given throughout this presentation to show the efficiency and the generality of this new theory.

ON THE RESONANCE WAVE INTERACTION PHENOMENON
Resonant wave interaction is a nonlinear process in which energy is transferred between different natural modes of a system by resonance. For a nonlinear system, the motion is not a summation of the linear modes, but con...
AN ANALYSIS OF THE STORM DYNAMICS IN THE BLACK SEA
The main objective of the present work is to analyze the storm dynamics in the Black Sea. A numerical wave model has been implemented and validated in the entire sea basin, including also the Sea of Azov. The wave model...
DYNAMICS OF THE 3-PRP PLANAR PARALLEL ROBOT
Recursive modelling for the kinematics and dynamics of the 3-PRP planar parallel robot is established in this paper. Three identical planar legs connecting to the moving platform are located in a vertical plane. Knowing...
ON THE VIBRATIONS GENERATED BY WOODEN CHURCH BELLS
In Maramures County, Romania, there is Budesti Josani wooden church inscribed on the World Heritage List. The major deterioration of its 18th and 19th paintins represent a big problem in restoration program. The vibratio...
AN ANALYTICAL MODEL FOR THE STRUCTURE OF THE DETONATION WAVES. APPLICATION FOR HYPERSONIC PROPULSION
The gas flow field within an 1D normal detonation wave at variable specific heats and viscosity with temperature is considered. Such detonation waves appear in the so called air-breathing scramjet engines used at hyperso...
