Abstract

The article summarizes the main tasks of the economic reforms of the banking sector of the economy, analyzes the performance of the banking system of Ukraine in 2014-2016, outlines the main problems of the domestic banking sector and the tasks that will contribute to stabilization and effectiveness of its activities. Ukraine's banking system is currently in the process of post-crisis recovery. The financial crisis has shown the inability of the banking system of Ukraine to overcome the adverse developments in the economy and its need for a series of reforms aimed at stabilizing the banking sector. The banky system of Ukraine has undergone significant changes, in particular in terms of liquidity and profitability. The prospect and development of banks in Ukraine depends not only on the state of the economy, but also on the political and social situation in the country. And this dependence also manifests itself in creating a competitive environment, proper control and regulation system. An analysis of the state of the domestic banking sector made it possible to identify the main problems, the solution of which will increase the financial stability and reliability of the banking sector. The dynamics of deposits from individuals is rising, which indicates an increase in confidence in the subjects of the Ukrainian banking system. The dynamics of the structure of loans granted to clients during the analyzed period is relatively stable. The modern Ukrainian market reflects a new approach to business, where entrepreneurship is precisely in assessing the profitability of a particular service, project or product, with the combination of the efficiency of using bank resources. Such a model reflects the principle of international practice. Today, the banking system is being purged and, in order to accelerate the improvement of the banking sector, it is necessary: to increase the level of capitalization of banks, to actively develop risk management, to increase the level of consolidation of banks, to increase the liquidity of banks.
