Analysis of ultimate bearing of concrete filled<br /> double skin steel tubular columns<br /> <br />

Abstract

Based on the Twin Shear Unified Strength Theory, the unified calculation formula of bearing capacity of concrete filled double skin steel tubular members subjected to axial compressive loading is derived. A comparison between the theoretical result and the experimental data in the literature is achieved. The results show that the Twin Shear Unified Strength Theory is versatile in the theoretical analyses of concrete filled double skin steel tube. The reliable theoretical foundation can be provided for the optimum design of concrete filled double skin steel tube.
