Anti Globalization Movement

Abstract

The problems that social movements have struggled with and the scale of these problems have been reshaped and shifted due to globalization’s impact on economy, nation state, environment, human rights, international organizations, increasing power of the multinational corporations and technology. The impacts of globalization on broad spectrum help to improve anti globalization movement. The problems that globalization brings along with it become a powerful tool to gather together the grassroots who struggle against these issues. In order to achive globalization from below these movements create international coalitions and orchestrate massive protests that help to draw public attention on the subjects that haven’t been critisized before. In this article, historical roots, participants, contradictions, goals, organizational models, different forms of action and the influence of the anti globalization movement are examined.
