Antioxidant Activity of Some Substituted 1, 2, 4 - Triazo-5-thione Schiff base
Journal Title: Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research - Year 2009, Vol 1, Issue 2
Abstract
Series of Schiff’s bases of 3-substituted 1, 2, 4 triazo -5 thione (4a-e) were synthesized from the ester of methyl paraben. The structure of the newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, 1HNMR and Mass spectrum. The bioavailability of all the compound was checked by using customized software. All the compounds were evaluated for its antioxidant activity by hydrogen peroxide scavenging method. The result shows that all the compounds have good bio availability and have significant antioxidant activity. The activity was shown as IC50 value which lies between 20 to 60μg/ml
