АНТОНІМІЧНІ ЛЕКСЕМИ В РОМАНІ ПАВЛА ЗАГРЕБЕЛЬНОГО «РОЗГІН»

Abstract
This article researches antonymic pairs, antonymic and synonymic paradigms and oxymoron syntagms in the novel «Acceleration» written by the famous Ukrainian writer Pavlo Zahrebelnyi. The achievement of setting objectives requires solving the following tasks: 1) to identify antonymic pairs, antonymic and synonymic paradigms, and oxymoron syntagms; 2) to characterize the most productive oppositions; 3) to determine the stylistic functions of oppositions and oxymorons in the analyzed texts. The analysis carried out discovered that productive oppositions were the ones nominating polar feelings, emotional state, psychical processes, emotions, appearance, character’s inner world, behaviour, character, actions and relations with other people and so on. In addition to symmetric antonymic pairs, components of which are characterized by peculiar semantic homogeneity, there are also asymmetric antonyms in the text. It is discovered that genitive metaphor testifies originality of author’s perception of the world. Genitive components of these metaphors are expressed by nouns which present positive and negative marking. Amplification of oppositions enables to express unified image, strengthen emotionality of description in the analyzed texts. Oxymoron syntagms are also productive in Pavlo Zahrebelnyi’s artistic discourse. They underline contradictory essence of objects and phenomena of objective reality, strengthen emotionality of the text. The analysis confirmed that antonymic lexemes and oxymoron syntagms are widely represented in the novel «Acceleration» written by Pavlo Zahrebelnyi. They give an opportunity to characterize the object from polar point of view, to show contradictory nature of human ideas and feelings, to highlight the emotional state of the character. The perspective researches deals with examining the oppositions on the material of other Pavlo Zahrebelnyi’s works.
