Application of enterprise environment analysis in the municipal waste management sector in Poland

Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify and assess organizations' environment factors relevant to the development of companies' strategies of the waste sector of economy in Poland. Strategic analysis of the environment is becoming more and more important for the smooth functioning of the organization. The cause is an increase in instability of the external environment of the organization. The analysis has been carried out in strategic areas of the environment of the service-providing sector of municipal waste collection appointed by M. E. Porter. The results indicate that the sector changes occur in the business structure. This trend has been observed mainly in larger cities. This sector has the opportunity to grow in the future. Suppliers have the largest power among other elements of the environment of the companies of the service-providing sector of municipal waste collection. Consumers, who are also the direct recipients of these services, are largely scattered. There are possibilities for increasing the competitiveness of non-price competition for the industry's stakeholders, but it is associated with an increase in social and environmental responsibility of consumers.
