Journal Title: Український журнал дерматології, венерології, косметології - Year 2019, Vol 0, Issue 2
Abstract
Today, almost 30 % of the world’s population suffers from mycoses, of which the most common are mycoses of the feet. The treatment of mycoses complicated by hyperkeratosis is a difficult problem. Objective — to determine the effectiveness of using the domestic original antimycotic Theobon-dithiomycocide for the treatment of fungal diseases of feet, complicated by hyperkeratosis. Materials and methods. In the course of the study, drugs registered in Ukraine were used: Teobon-dithiomycocide as 3 % aqueous solution ex tempore and 5 % ointment based on white soft paraffin. A method of treating mycosis with severe hyperkeratosis involves softening the coarse stratum corneum, removing the dead cells of the epidermis with the subsequent treatment of the feet, including the nails, by 3 % aqueous solution of the drug substance and further therapy using 5 % ointment. The treatment was performed on 12 patients aged 25 to 63 years with a different form of complicated foot fungal mycoses. Results and discussion. Treatment of patients according to the proposed scheme with the use of Teobon-dithiomycocide showed its effectiveness. After 3—5 days of treatment, the patients showed significant improvement, unpleasant subjective sensations were eliminated. On the 9th day the cracks completely epithelialized, hyperkeratosis disappeared. External therapy in the treatment of mycoses of the skin with Teobon-dithiomycocide did not lead to pathological changes in laboratory blood parameters, which gives reason to argue about the absence of a negative effect of the drug on the patient’s body. Achievement of a complete clinical cure was recorded on days 20—30. Conclusions. The use of the original domestic antimycotic Theobon-dithiomycocide with a pronounced antibacterial effect provides a fairly high efficacy in the treatment of fungal foot infections complicated by hyperkeratosis and is competitive in comparison with the well-known foreign antifungal drugs of local actions.
