APRIL PROGRAM OF 1858 AND ITS PLACE IN THE PROCESS OF PREPARATION OF THE PEASANT REFORM OF 1861

Abstract
The purpose of the paper is to present the characteristics of the April program of 1858. A special accent made on the activities of the Main Committee on Peasant Affairs. The study describes the influence of its decisions on the results of the preparatory process of the Peasant Reform of 1861 in Russia. The author highlights the main provisions of the April program and the conditions for its adoption. Also analysis the effect of the proclamation of the Program among the Russian nobility.
