APUNTES SOBRE LA AFECTIVIDAD, LAS EMOCIONES Y SU RELACIÓN CON LA MORALIDAD

Abstract
The problem of affection, or of oneself being able to affect from emotions, presents a difficult framework that we believe must be considered to begin rethinking the validity of the discussion on this subject; or, the validity of the debate on the nature of affectivity and emotions. However, as it’s a long-term historical problem, for reasons of length, in this article we propose to explain and discuss only a part of this framework, considering authors that we trust have treated the subject matter rigorously and on the basis of the relationship between emotion and morality: Plato and Aristotle, to begin the subject from their thesis about the being and the emotionality; David Hume, for being the one who challenged the idea of rationality of virtue, proposing the consideration of emotions and feelings as foundations of morality; Jean Paul Sartre, for offering us the discussion on the descriptive character of emotion, as a way of understanding our being-in-the-world. We consider the reflections of these thinkers as an important source of approach to the subject.
