Az egészség társadalmi és mediális konstrukciója időskorúak esetében / The Social and Media Construction of Health in the Case of the Elderly

Abstract
In the fall of 2017, in the framework of EFOP 361 project of the University of Szeged, a media science research has started on the mediation of health discourse at the Department of Communication and Media Sciences. One of the directions of the research in several sub-topics is to reveal the social constructions of health and healthy lifestyle, focusing on the infl uence of the media. This research topic was researched by focus group interviews in diff erent age groups. Our study approached the subject in a funnel-like manner: at fi rst it was about the nature of health and health conditions, this was followed by a section on healthcare systems and self-medication then the topic of health-related media consumption. This paper discusses the results of a study of people over 65 years of age.
