Badania nad obiegiem węgla na obszarach łąkowych

Abstract

The study has been carried out within the frame of FINEGRASS project “Effect of climatic changes on grassland growth, its water conditions and biomass” funded by Polish-Norwegian Research Programme. Field campaigns were conducted in the years 2014–2015 at Wielkopolska Region, Biebrza River Valley, and Pieniny Mountains test sites, that cover the three following grassland types: lowland non–valley, lowland valley, and mountainous. The paper presents in-situ and satellite observations to quantify relationships between soil-vegetation parameters that influence spatial and temporal variability of carbon fluxes over these areas. The esults showed the significant impact of LAI, WG, and PAR on CO2 measured at the test sites. The higher LAI, WG, and PAR are, the higher NEE flux is (absorption of CO2). Also, the correlations between NEE and NDVI and Ts calculated from Terra MODIS images have been presented. The higher NDVI is, the higher CO2 absorption is. The RESP increased when Ts was higher than 24°C. Application of backscattering coefficient (σ°) calculated from satellite microwave data such as TerraSAR-X shoved the signifi cant positive relationship between NEE and σ°. The next step of the FINEGRASS project is the application of satellite data acquired in optical and microwave spectrum to develop method for the assessment of carbon fluxes.
