And her candid, unequivocal and experimental poetry as well as her strong and self-assured precision for human nature receives a continious attention of the readers of Beat Generation. With an iconoclastic, wry and meditative style, Di Prima represents the voice of the feminine and the maternal alternative of the Beat Generation. Her quest is for self-definition and a clear expression of feminine poetics; exploring female perspectives of bohemian life, love, motherhood, community and independence. Using parody, satire, and a humorous ironic language, she reflects on the voiceless communication between men and women and the alienated self living in the crowd of outer world. This article aims to analyze and illustrate the protest voice of Diane Di Prima and to exemplify her feminine poetics as a female Beat poet.
