Abstract
The article analyzes the publishing of «Charitable Society for Publication of Universally Bene¿ cial and Cheap Books», an organization that emerged in Saint Petersburg in 1898 with the assistance of Ukrainian public gures. It analyzes the book output that was published in the early XX century marked as Charitable Society. The article de¿ nes the thematic repertory of publications which was formed mainly of brochures on agricultural, economic, social and political, historical topics, ction, etc. It notes the contribution of the society to the processes of the development and spread of Ukrainian books to the great segment of the people.
