Business game as means of students’ professional and communicative competence formation

Abstract
This article deals with the formation of professional and communicative competence of students in the use of business games at the classes of native language at higher educational institutions. The article presents the rationale for the use of business games at the classes of the Ukrainian language for professional purposes in order to form a professional and communicative competence of future specialists of construction and civil engineering. The attempt to prove the effectiveness of business games application at the classes at higher educational institutions, as well as to demonstrate the use of business games as one of the effective methods for organising the educational process on the basis of the proposed business games in the context of this scientific search is made. The article proves that the business game can be defined as a modelling of professional activity, each participant of which performs a specific «professional» role. In this paper, it is proposed to consider the structural components of the business game on a specific example. The structure of the business game, as well as didactic requirements for its use, are substantiated. The stages of the process of solving problems using the game method are presented. In addition, the psychological and pedagogical principles of using business games are analysed and their features are summarised. The value of this method lies in the fact that the business game organises, develops students, expands their cognitive abilities, educates personality, forms professional and communicative competence. The use of business games at the classes of the Ukrainian language for professional purposes helps to achieve the potential of the future specialist, to intensify the process of studying and self-improvement, to update the basic knowledge, to encourage thinking and analysing. Business games bring the participant of the educational process to the real professional activity as close as possible. Solving the problem in a business game is directly related to its participants’ communicative activities. The main purpose of the didactic games is to form students’ ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice, and in the future – to use this knowledge in real professional life.
