Causal relationship between Islamic work ethic and organizational self-esteem with Organizational Commitment and Job Performance with mediating role of Intrinsic Motivation in employees of Naft Company

Abstract

The aim of this study was to test a model consisting of Causal relationship between Islamic work ethic and organizational self-esteem with Organizational Commitment and Job Performance with mediating role of Intrinsic Motivation. 161 employees of Naft Company were selected by simple random sampling. The instruments used in this study were Paterson Job Performance Questionnaire, Allen & Meyer's Organizational Commitment Questionnaire, Work Extrinsic and Intrinsic Motivation Scale, Islamic Work Ethic Questionnaire and Pierce et al`s Organization Based Self-Esteem Questionnare. The fitness of the proposed model was examined through path analysis. The indirect effects were tested by using bootstrap procedure. The findings indicated that the modified model fitted the data. In addition, Intrinsic Motivation mediated the relationships between Islamic work ethic with Organizational Commitment and Job Performance.
