Predicting sexual desire based on pornography and sexual fantasy among couples

Abstract
The aim of this study was to predict sexual desire based on pornography and sexual fantasy among couples. To this end, bivariate correlational research method and regression analyses were used. The research population included all couples with sexual problems who referred to counseling and psychotherapy centers in Shiraz for couple therapy in the first half of 2015. The research sample consisted of 50 couples (50 females and 50 males) who were selected through available sampling. The respondents were asked to fill out Pornography Craving Questionnaire (Rosenberg & Cross, 2003), Wilson Sex Fantasy Inventory, and Halbert Sexual Desire Questionnaire. The collected data were then analyzed through Pearson correlation test and synchronous bivariate regression analysis. The results showed that watching porn videos and photos is correlated with increased sexual desires and while sexual fantasy is associated with decreased sexual desire among couples.
