CHERNOZEMS OF UKRAINE: GEOGRAPHY, GENESIS AND CURRENT CONDITIONS

Abstract
The purpose of the publishing - to summarize extensive research on the history of Ukraine Chernozems study, their genesis, geography, structure, properties, functions in biosphere, use, preservation and protection. Numerous research materials on Ukraine Chernozems, features of their genesis and distribution patterns have been summarized and analyzed. The history of the Chernozems study, starting from the soils doctrine origins that preceded V.V.Dokuchaev, such as the works of Ukrainian scientists N.D. Borisiak and J.F. Levakovskyi and the later works of L. Buber, G. Makhiv has been described.The general morphogenetic characterization of Chernozems which lies in the specific habitus that is in its special constitution, posture, power, excellent properties and high fertility has been presented. Stages in the Chernozems development, particularly the stage of their extensive and agrotechnological use, which leads to intense manifestation of degradation processes: erosion, deflation, compaction, dehumification, destructuration, etc. have been characterized. The role and importance of Chernozems as a phenomenon of nature, as the ideal soil, feeder and as a mean of labor in the world of soils, has been emphasized. The novelty of the research is in revealing the role and importance of Chernozems in soils worldwide as a phenomenon of nature, the ideal soil and breadwinner and means of labor.
