Concept, features and payment methods in the sphere of the electronic commerce

Abstract
The development of information technology has led to a significant increase in the number of deals carried out using the Internet and remotely. Payments for goods, work or services are an important part of the deal. That’s why so-called electronic deals led to the emergence of a new type of payments – electronic, which can be conditionally distinguished in a separate type of payments. The purpose of the article. Based on the practical studies of the e-commerce market, consider the main features inherent in electronic payments. Scientific novelty. The following is a list of features summarized by the author: - electronic payments are carried out using the Internet with the use of specific software necessary for information about the payment; - for making electronic payments may be used fiat money, electronic money, other financial assets, cryptocurrencies, etc .; - electronic payments are carried out remotely - the sender and recipient do not physically contact for making payment; - electronic payments are intended to be as close as possible to instantaneous or very fast; - making electronic payments requires the presence of an additional entity - the provider, which ensures their execution. Conclusions. As a result, the author’s own definition of the concept of payments in the sphere of e-commerce is proposed, main characteristics of electronic payments are determined, and the classification is carried out according to the relevant criteria. In particular, the division of electronic payments is the most expedient in the opinion of the author criterion (on the subject of settlements) for cash, cashless funds, electronic money, financial assets, different from cash, cryptocurrencies, quasi-currencies.
