Concept of motherland in emigration literature: theoretical and methodological principles

Abstract
The article submittes the theoretical and methodological basis of analysis of the concept of motherland in Ukrainian emigration literature (especially of Ukrainian-Canadian poetry). The research experience of the concept motherland is systematized as socio-cultural phenomenon, the basic approaches to the interpretation of the concept of homeland are compared. The concept of ethnic homeland and the country of living (or even bieth) do not match in diaspora is revealed. There appears the concept of the «second» motherland – spatial and physical model, which has nothing to do with ethnocultural homeland in most cases.
