CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF SANDHI MARMA W.S.R. TO KURPAR SANDHI (ELBOW JOINT)

Abstract
Vaghbhata in a elaborative manner though Marma Sharir and its practical application is very important during surgery and to understand the injuries at Marma site, their prognosis and possible prevention. The traditional practices of Marma existing specially in south India does not seem to have original roots in Ayurveda volumes. Marayante iti marmani, mriyate asminanga uphatiti marma by Sarvangsundar tika the Marma word literally used with the meaning vital ,tender or a secrete thing where likelihood of death occur after infliction to these places so called Marma. Inside the body there are specific anatomical locations which are vital in the sense, injury to these parts shall be painful or can cripple the local functions or can even lead to sudden death of the individuals so that they are to be protected and taken care off. Sushruta says these are the seats of Prana in the body and they are the junctions of different channels of Prana movements in the body. In the present conceptual n anatomical study of Sandhi Marma we are going to elaborate Kurparsandhi Marma its specifications and clinical importance. This study can be helpful to understand the various injuries to elbow joint its prognosis and prevention from the crippling of local functions.
