CONTEXT MODELS AND GRAPHIC TESTS FOR ALGORITHM CREATION

Abstract

The creation of learning appliances is the most complex part of e-learning technology design and it has only partial solutions. The goal of this research is to use principles of context modeling to build computer model consisting of graphic tests, that will allow each one to study according to his own needs. Context modeling is the manifold task and requires evaluation of multiple aspects. The research deepens the concepts of context modeling: context, context model, graphic model, graphic template. This paper analyses the formal methods for creation of active learning objects, they are illustrated by examples from algorithm creation. During the phase of active learning object design the learning topic is processed using the principles of system analysis and described formally by feature diagrams and context graphs. The implementation phase employs the graphic testing tool Testtool for creation of graphic templates that together with formal specifications of the learning topic are used to generate graphic models. The example of algorithm creation show how the usage of methods of context design can be employed for fast creation of flexible system modeling based means for active learning, control and self-control, that implement various ways of knowledge assessment, including simulation, experimentation and practice. The utilization of universal graphic tests allows the experts of any field to acquire skills of Testtool design for their topics and use them to build graphic models of various difficulty levels, expand these models or change then at any time. When learning means, that are systemically created in Testtool environment, are used for student self-practice, self-control and adequate knowledge control, the work of teacher and student acquires a higher degree of creative collaboration.
