Coverage of e-Government Development in Ukrainian Mass Media
Journal Title: Соціологія: теорія, методи, маркетинг - Year 2018, Vol 3, Issue
Abstract
The paper describes how e-government projects are represented in Ukrainian mass media. Using automated media monitoring tools, the author has analysed the dynamics of media coverage of e-government issues over the period between 2008 and 2017 to select the most popular news sites, columns and headlines. The content and noticeability of publications served as the basis for compiling a ranking of media discourse subjects, including rankings of Ukraine’s regions and public figures. The author has shown a link between successful implementation of the key components of e-government in Ukraine and their representation in the mass media. However, the media effect achieved so far is not enough to accelerate the public administration reform.
