Criminalistic characteristics of cruel treatment with animals: concept and essence

Abstract
In this article, the elements of the criminal characterization of the crime provided for in Art. 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, as an object of criminal procedural cognition. The criminalistic characterization of crimes plays an important role in the development of methods for investigating crimes.The author reveals the content of cruel treatment with animals, determines the elemental composition of the forensic characteristics of the crime being analyzed, and also analyzes the components of this characteristic on th ematerials of criminal practice. The article describes the subject of criminal encroachment in cruel treatment of animals, the situation of the crime, th emethods of its commission and the trail picture. So, the author comes to a conclusion about the importance of developing this characteristic in the field of ensuring the investigation of crimes that encroach on public order and morality.
