Current situation and future prospects of chemical defense medicine

Abstract
Chemical weapons, as weapons of mass destruction, have been widely used in the history of war, causing a large number of casualties. China has been faced with the real harm of Japans abandoned chemical weapons for a long time, and meanwhile military secondary chemical disasters and chemical terrorist attacks have also posed a serious threat to our national security and national defense security. Chemical defense medicine is a discipline that studies medical protective measures in response to chemical weapons and is an important part of military medicine. Combined with the research direction and related progress of the research group, this paper systematically summarizes the history, characteristics and classification of chemical weapons, discusses the long-term and continuous existence of the threat of new chemical weapons, expounds the international arms control and implementation exchanges of chemical weapons, reviews the research status of chemical weapons protective equipment in the world, and looks forward to the development direction of chemical defense medicine in the future, which provides a valuable reference for promoting the development of chemical defense medicine, especially protective equipment.
