Defeated expectation as a means of creation of comic in English speeches

Abstract
The article is devoted to the notions “humour” and “defeated expectation” as a means of its rendering into language. The notion “comic” and “humour” are characterised in the study, features of defeated expectation technique which is an effective way to attract and keep audience’s attention while making speeches were pointed out.
