Design and Performance Analysis of Spiral Bevel Gear with Arc Constant-depth Tooth
Journal Title: 河南科技大学学报(自然科学版) - Year 2018, Vol 39, Issue 3
Abstract
In order to improve the diagonal phenomenon of gear pair, conventional spiral bevel gear tapered teeth was changed into constant-depth tooth with No. 0 cutter while milling. Based on local meshing principle of gears, tooth contact analysis ( TCA) technology and loaded tooth contact analysis ( LTCA) technology, the actual contact area, load and stress-strain of contour gear design and conventional gear design were analyzed under the same conditions. Theoretical analysis and expriments indicate that the theoretical and actual contact area are basically the same. The size of the force and stress distribution are basically the same. Compared with the traditional gear design, the constant-depth tooth bevel gear design ensures the gear strength and gear meshing quality. The contact area is easy to adjust, which improve its processing efficiency.
