Development of Online Information System: The Case of PhilHealth Region VIII

Abstract
The evolution of technology is quite so fast. People prefer to use automation rather than manual to make life simpler. The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth, is the implementor of the country’s National Health Insurance Program. Its Human Resource (HR) Department deals with employee’s record and on the job trainees. Due of its heavy and bulky transactions, the HR Department currently experiences problems in their transactions since all processes are done manually. This study utilized descriptive research design and was conducted at the PhilHealth Region VIII office particularly its Human Resource Department. Results revealed issues with the current system which led to the development of the Online Information System (OIS).
