Development of Project Management Information System for Income Generating Projects

Abstract
IGP unit of a SUCs should be taken care of particularly in managing projects. Thus, the study aimed to design and develop a Project Management Information System (PMIS) for Income Generating Projects of Southern Leyte State University-Hinunangan, useful for storing essential information of a project. This research examined the existing practices in project management and its five phases namely initiation, planning, execution, controlling and closing. It utilized the descriptive method in gathering relevant data using a researcher-made questionnaires which were disseminated to 50 respondents employing the universal sampling method. The collected data were tabulated and analyzed using measures of central tendency: frequencies, means, percentage, and ranks. SDLC framework adopting Waterfall Model was applied in the systems development process. Majority of the respondents wanted to improve the existing system through PMIS that helps in providing fast and easy generation of reports, retrieval of records, and inquiries to project information/status which speed up decision making of the management.
