This was a retrospective study between January 2010 and December 2013 concerning the records of 15 men and 19 women have been supported for extra pulmonary thoracic hydatid disease. Results. 314 patients operated on in our department for thoracic hydatid disease during the study period, 10.82% had extra pulmonary location and 3 multiple. We noted a history of subsequent surgery for other localizations of hydatid disease in 8 patients. The diagnosis was suspected by preoperative imaging and the exact location of the lesion confirmed preoperatively. Scissurale location was the most frequent (55.88%). The postoperative course was uneventful in all cases. No recurrence was observed during the postoperative follow-up with a 12-month decline. Conclusion. The extra pulmonary thoracic location of hydatid cyst is a rare entity, even in a highly endemic countries. An early treatment prevents the occurrence of complications. Surgery is the treatment of choice. The additional medical treatment can scoop recidivism.
