DISCOURSE ANALYSIS AS A METHOD OF STUDYING THE MODERNIST FRENCH POETIC DISCOURSE

Abstract
The definitions of terms «discourse analysis», «poetic discourse» are provided. The article represents results of research of application of the method of discourse analysis in the process of the analysis of the poetic model of the world. It is argued that this approach with success can be used when identifying the place and role of the literary concept in the functioning of poetic discourse. The challenge of the problem is caused by the ambiguous nature of the concept in literature. The author considers current linguopoetic approach to the interpretation of literary concept as a writer’s consciousness unit. Poetic discourse is an environment of dynamic activity of literary concepts. French poetic discourse of modernism is a discourse of a special nature; it is characterized by the emergence of new forms of artistic and aesthetic consciousness. The purpose of the discourse analysis is to determine the historical place of each discursive event. On a material of the French poetic discourse of the 19th century is investigated specificity of functioning literary concept «soleil couchant». The identification of the literary concept «soleil couchant» in the works by Hugo, Baudelaire and Verlaine is carried out in line with our research of the French literary poetic consciousness of the epoch of modernism: the motive of time is in focus. Organization of the poetic text sense (the theme of discourse – the time) is made around the landscape sunset which is the state of nature that correlates with melancholia as a special psycho-emotional state of human consciousness. The research is concentrated on questions of the essence of the poetic discourse and literary concept which open a possibility for understanding a significance of the linguistic method of discourse analysis for cognitive poetics, literary conceptology. This approach is due to the necessity of studying the literary concept on the basis of complex philological positions. Prospects for further research are to establish the methodology of complex integrative analysis of the system of literary concepts of a literary work.
