Journal Title: "Konteksty Kształcenia Muzycznego" - Year 2014, Vol 1, Issue 1
Abstract
The article includes a report from some part of the research on the contents of culture which are conveyed to pupils through didactic games. The presented research procedure was carried out in line with the rules of humanistic interpretation applied while analyzing works of culture. During that exploration the contents of the documents that appeared in print (books) were critically evaluated. The descriptions of 1,232 musical games involving physical movement included in them were assessed in a synthetic way. The scenario of each of them was interpreted with the use of a modified case study technique. The research in question revealed varied contents of the games scenarios employed while working with nursery school and primary school pupils. It turned out that the most popular motifs appearing in the games involving music and physical movement were the world of animate and inanimate nature, and architecture. What they also relatively often illustrated were devices and tools, vehicles, professions, family relations and musical instruments. Occasionally there were fantastic motifs depicted. On the whole, it was acknowledged that the games involving music and physical movement showed pupils a varied and, at the same time, realistic view of the world.
