Domestic Oilseed Market in the season of 2009/2010 (prognosis)
Journal Title: Rośliny Oleiste - Oilseed Crops - Year 2009, Vol 30, Issue 2
Abstract
In 2009 rapeseed crop in Poland amounted to record level of ca 2.5 million tons. The supply of rapeseed on the internal and European market considerably outpaced the demand and therefore rapeseed prices declined. If the use of rape oil in the production of biocomponents increases at a high rate, in the 2009/2010 season rapeseed crushing may grow to the level exceeding 2.2 million tons. The negative balance of foreign trade will improve. In the following years, a growing demand for rapeseed oil used for biodiesel production will be the major factor determining further growth of rapeseed production and crushing in the country.

Cleared-ovule method applied to the evaluation of the effectiveness of pollinations in wide crosses within Brassica genera
An attempt was made to adapt a cleared-ovule method developed by Ponitka and Ślusarkiewicz-Jarzinę (2004) for evaluation of crossing effectiveness in wide crosses within Brassica genera. The material used in this experim...

Assessment of genetic distance of parental lines of F1 hybrids of winter oilseed rape and its relationship with phenotypic distance and heterosis effect
Selection of parental lines is a very important step of hybrid breeding programmes. Knowledge of the general (GCA) and specific (SCA) combining ability is helpful in the selection of parental genotypes and theoretically...
The usage of distant crosses for the extension of genetic variation in Brassica sp.
The crossing of genetically distant plants allows for the introduction of beneficial economical traits from wild to cultivated plants. The genetic incompatibility often prevents an effective crossing between two species...
