Effect of land use in the past (19th and the end of 20th c.) on the grassland vegetation of the Radziejowa Range (Beskid Sądecki Mts.)

Journal Title: Roczniki Bieszczadzkie - Year 2011, Vol 19, Issue 1

Abstract

Present state of meadow vegetation in different ways used in the past in the Radziejowa Range is given. False oat-grass meadows Arrhenatheretum elatioris occurred generally on former arable grounds, while common bent meadows Gladiolo-Agrostietum and mat-grass meadows Hieracio-Nardetum appeared mainly on former hay meadows and pastures. The influence of former land use method upon present state of communities depends on time of community formation and variability of habitat conditions in which occurred green lands and arable grounds in the past.
